Church Massacre

...If God had not driven some people back by means of others,
monasteries, churches, synagogues and mosques, where God's name is
mentioned much, would have been pulled down and destroyed. God will
certainly help those who help Him - God is All-Strong, Almighty.
(Quran - 22:40)

At least 52 were killed after Al Qaeda militants attacked a church in Baghdad, killed the priest and held the worshippers in the church as hostages.
The Iraqi government troops stormed the church and the militants blew up their suicide vests after throwing grenades. This is some of the worst violence that Iraq has faced in the last few months and shows that Iraq even after the American 'withdrawal' isn't stable or safe.

The illegal war on Iraq has left a nation that is barely able to function and where these kinds of attacks can be done easily. The Iraqi people are the real victims of this war. The Baath party regime, Al Qaeda, the Shia militia, the Americans and the Iraqi government maybe the actual parties that involved in this war but it the civilians that have the most to lose and usually lose the most.

The quote that I began this article with shows that Islam respects the places of worship of Jew and Christians and this kind of action is against Islamic teachings, its both funny and saddening that the people who claim to be most religious and islamic amongst us are the ones who carry out these atrocities that contradict Islamic teachings. Peace will come to Iraq and to the whole world one day God willing. W'salaam ~ peace
